Terms of Service
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using CivicBrief ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the Service. CivicBrief is operated by Dobrinski Digital LLC, a New Hampshire limited liability company.
2. Description of Service
CivicBrief provides AI-generated summaries, key takeaways, and transcripts of publicly available local government meeting recordings. Reports are published for informational purposes only. The Service is available via paid subscription at civbrief.com.
3. Accounts
To access reports, you must create an account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You agree to provide accurate information at signup and to keep it current. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
4. Subscriptions and Billing
CivicBrief offers the following subscription plans:
- Resident — $9.99/month: Access to live reports for one town of your choice.
- Nosey Neighbor — $19.99/month: Access to live reports for all available towns.
Subscriptions are billed monthly and renew automatically until cancelled. Payments are processed by Stripe. By subscribing, you authorize us to charge your payment method on a recurring basis. You may cancel your subscription at any time from your Profile page or by contacting us. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period. We do not offer refunds for partial billing periods.
5. Accuracy of Content
Reports on CivicBrief are generated using artificial intelligence and may contain errors, omissions, or inaccuracies. All content is derived from publicly available government meeting recordings and is provided for informational purposes only. CivicBrief does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of any report. You should independently verify any information before relying on it for legal, financial, business, or civic decisions.
6. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Share your account credentials or allow others to access the Service using your account
- Reproduce, redistribute, or resell report content without written permission
- Scrape, crawl, or automate access to the Service
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
- Attempt to reverse engineer or interfere with the Service's infrastructure
7. Intellectual Property
The CivicBrief platform, branding, and original content are owned by Dobrinski Digital LLC. Source material used in reports — including government meeting recordings and transcripts — is publicly available and in the public domain. AI-generated report content produced by CivicBrief may not be republished or sold without written permission.
8. Disclaimer of Warranties
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that reports will be accurate or complete. Your use of the Service is at your own risk.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Dobrinski Digital LLC shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use the Service, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages. Our total liability to you for any claim arising out of these Terms or your use of the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the three months preceding the claim.
10. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Dobrinski Digital LLC and its officers, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the Service or violation of these Terms.
11. Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time for any reason, including violation of these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination — including disclaimers, limitations of liability, and indemnification — will survive.
12. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Hampshire, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be resolved in the courts of New Hampshire.
13. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the effective date at the top of this page. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.
